Ladakh, known as the "Land of High Passes", is one of the most humble and kind-natured places I have travelled to in India. Situated nearly 10,000 ft above sea-level amongst the Himalayan and Kunlun Mountain ranges, a few places on this planet leave you mesmerised by supernatural mountainous landscapes in every direction. Once a Buddhist kingdom, it still maintains Tibetan-Buddhist influences, with countless gompas, colourful prayer flags and turning wheels chimed with chanting mantras. A place too easy to fall in love with and a second home to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Leh was a definite stop I knew I wanted to explore on our honeymoon.
